his past weekend, an earthquake devastated central Italy, crumbling towns and villages, including Amatrice – home of the classic pasta Amatriciana, made with guanciale (cured pork cheek), tomatoes and pecorino.
Restaurants around the world are raising money for the earthquake relief efforts through sales of pasta Amatriciana, and Toronto establishments are joining in with #AmatricianaTO.
Throughout September, participating restaurants will donate a portion of proceeds from each dish of pasta Amatriciana sold to the Canadian Red Cross Italy Earthquake Appeal.
