Open/closed for the week of May 26 - June 1

Patios are in full effect. It’s time to celebrate the season. So let’s get you outside with a drink in one hand and a fork in the other.

Here are this week’s listings:

Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery
93 1/2 Ossington Ave.

Bang Bang Ice Cream & Bakery opened up right smack dab next to Boehmer on the Ossington Strip. And just in time for summer.

Brought to us by Bakerbots Baking just up the road at Ossington and Bloor, homemade ice creams are offered in trendy flavours like Sick Espresso, Bellwoods Stout (Bellwoods Brewery is a neighbour across the street) and Cinnamon Toast. Handmade ice cream sandwiches are also available.

Get the napkins ready.

Pai
18 Duncan St.

Duncan Street continues on the upswing (recent additions Kanga, Byblos) with new occupant Pai, a Northern Thai restaurant. For those of you who are avid Sukhothai fans, you’ll be happy to know that this is also from Jeff and Nuit Regular. This time, though, it’s a collab, with Janet Zuccarini, whom you’ll know from Gusto 101 (and the soon to be Gusto 501).

Pai opens for lunch, brunch and dinner to the public tonight.

The Good Press
87 Yorkville Ave.

Using local and organic ingredients, The Good Press ensures that you’ll get at least one healthy thing into you while you’re on the go.

Drinks range from cold-pressed juices to smoothies, and if you’re looking to nosh, their acai bowls are packed with nutrients.

So maybe you skip the poutine today…

West Bar
510 King St. W.

Looking for a new afterwork cocktails and late night drinks place? West Bar had its big launch on Wednesday.

Expansions:

Fat Phill’s opened at Yonge & Davisville on Tuesday.
-  The Young & Eligible now have another choice for ramen, as Touhenboku Ramen opened up their second location in the Y&E ‘hood on Thursday.

New launches:

Paintbox Bistro launched their rooftop patio this Thursday.
- Starting on Sunday, Porzia launches $10 drinks and snacks.

Events:

We’re heading out to CraveTO tonight. See you there?

Psst…

Portland Variety
587 King St. W.

Even though it’s not until next week, I thought I’d tell you that Portland Variety Café is opening on Monday. And they’re giving away free coffee on Monday from 11 am – 3 pm!

And in other great news, their 150-seat restaurant (with full-on patio) will open later in June. Stay tuned!
