Open/Closed for the week of June 20–26

It’s time to celebrate - this week brings with it 11 new openings, some exciting culinary events and fabulous summer weather. Woo woo!

Here’s the very latest:

Open:

The Canadian Breakfast Bar
249 Augusta Ave.

Bacon Nation expands to Kensington with a breakfast-centric menu including Breakfast BLT ($5), Bacon Poutine ($5) and Pig Mac Burger ($8).

Cherry Street Bar-B-Que
275 Cherry St.

Now that the streetcars are running along Cherry Street, it’s easy to get yourself some 'cue. The Double Stack Cherry Mack Burger, made from daily grind of brisket is a good start.

Stay tuned.

Dirty Bird Fried Chicken & Waffles
527 Bloor St. W.

Satiate your chicken and waffle craving at the Annex location.

Fugo Desserts
205 Dundas St. W.

This Saturday marks the grand opening of the your latest destination for themed ice cream desserts ("Cookie Monster"  "Cookies n' Dreams") and housemade ice cream flavours (“Cheat Day,”). Even the cones get the sweet treatment (get it trimmed in Fruit Loops).

1903 – A Harley-Davidson Café
96 Ossington Ave.

This ain’t no regular café. This one comes outfitted with Harleys. Enjoy it while you can – it’s only sticking around until September.

Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar
550 Wellington St.W.

A new teppanyaki spot has opened at Bathurst and Wellington. In addition to the iron griddle show, there are also starters and sushi to be had.

Note, they are currently opening at 4pm. Should you wish to go for lunch, you can reserve for parties of 8.

Lan Restaurant
755 Queen St. E.

Lan opens today, but don’t expect plastic tablecloths and bright fluroscent lighting at the new Vietnamese restaurant. Instead, fine French architecture awaits you.

Los Guaca-moles
690 Euclid Ave.

The new Mexican restaurant is currently open for dinner Tues-Sat, lunch Thurs & Fri, and brunch Sat & Sunday.

On the menu – nachos, ceviche, tostadas, tacos, mains and mole, and desserts.

McCoy Burger Co.
3334 Yonge St.

If you want meat without filler, head to McCoy Burger Co. Their patties are made with 100% premium beef, ground on site daily.

Signature burgers include The Loaded 2-by-4 (two fresh ground 4oz. premium beef patties, bacon, maple glazed sauteed onions, mushrooms, an onion ring, and slices of Havarti, Swiss, Monterey Jack and Canadian Cheddar). Also available - chicken, turkey, veggie and salmon burgers - along with a variety of sides.

The Rudy Resto
619 College St.

This Friday, the select menu features a burger, cheeseburger, double burger and fries.

More to come soon.
