Restaurants for Change – Dine Out, Do Good on October 18

Restaurants for Change is back this year, bigger and better than ever.

One of the most exciting food events of the year is also one of the easiest – you simply make a reservation at one of the participating restaurants for the evening of Wednesday, October 18.

The proceeds from the evening’s sales are then donated to support community food programs in low-income communities across Canada. The national fundraising campaign helps support programs that “bring people together to grow, cook, share and advocate for good food for all.”

How cool is that?

What’s new

This year’s event includes over 25 per cent more restaurants, so now you have 92 to choose from across Canada, and 37 right here in Toronto, and many more throughout the GTA.

Some of the cities top chefs won’t just be cooking for you – they’re making their favourites dishes off their menus. Many participating chefs celebrated the upcoming event at Monday night’s launch party at King Street’s Baro.

The food

You’re in for a real treat this year.

Toronto’s top chefs will be cooking up a storm. From heathy selections (crispy rotisserie chicken, vibrant salads, plant-based fare ) and comfort food (diner-style burgers and barbecue) to elegant fine dining, there’s something for everyone.

In the mood for Thai, Taiwanese, Greek, Italian or French? Restaurants for Change has got you covered.

And of course there is a ton of locally, seasonally focused fare from esteemed restaurants to choose from as well.

The evening

This is no ordinary dinner reservation.

In addition to the proceeds going to one of the very best causes, the evening becomes a celebration and a kind of intimate dinner party, even in the most expansive restaurants.

You don’t want to miss it.
