Open/Closed: week of March 15-21, 2018

It’s cold. It’s the longest winter ever. Ugh. But there’s a lot to look forward to this week, thanks to 11 new options for dining and drinking around town. Phew.

Here’s the very latest:

OPEN

In the Fashion District? Hungry? Stuff your mouth at Burgers Priest’s newest location at King and Portland (579 King St. W.). 

American candy mecca Dylan’s Candy Bar has landed at Terminal 1 at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Stay tuned - the coveted sweets will be available at select Hudson’s Bay and Holt Renfrew locations in months to follow.

Greenhouse Juice’s healthy options are now available at Union Station (65 Front St. W., Front Street Promenade). On the menu: smoothie, hot drinks, soups, etc.

Corktown has a new café and “drinkery,” Henrietta Lane (394 King St. E.).

From the folks behind Hero Certified Burger, comes Hero Certified Pizza, located in Stock Yards Village (90 Weston Rd.).

After lengthy delays, the downtown location of KAKA All You Can Eat (655 Bay St.) launches Monday.

Loaded Pierogi expands again, this time to Church and Maitland (524 Church St.)

Starting Monday, Momofuku will be popping up at the Champagne Bar at Saks Food Hall by Pusateri’s at CF Toronto Eaton Centre (176 Yonge St.).

The Senator Winebar, located above historic The Senator Restaurant (249 Victoria St.), debuts tonight.

Mississauga’s new SLS Eazy Carry (2275 Britannia Rd. W., Unit 16) offers “depths of Srilankan & South Indian Cuisine” for takeout. On the menu: pittu/string hopper, dosa and idly, kotu roti, curries, sweets, and more.

Arcade bar Tilt (824 Dundas St. W.) has relocated, reopening tonight.

CLOSED

Buh-bye Cindy and Rande, Kurt and Goldie, and other jet-setters. Grand Electric Muskoka (2 James Bartleman Way, Unit 6, Port Carling) has closed up shop.

Loaded Pierogi’s eastside location (1044 Gerrard St. E.) has closed.

Speaking of the east end, Leslieville’s Skin + Bones (1028 Queen St. W.) has shuttered after five years. 

CLOSING

Mika Bareket’s cookbook and gift shop Good Egg (267 Augusta Ave.) has begun liquidation sales, with an expected closure in a few months.
