From a cuppa joe to superior steak, this week’s 14 openings offer options for every budget.  

And even though the first day of fall is upon us, there’s much more ice cream to be had. Hallelujah.

Here’s the very latest: 

OPEN 

If specialty coffee and motorcycles are your thing, you’ll be pumped about BackRoad Coffee opening in Port Credit (133 Queen St. E.) on Monday.

It’s no Central Perk, but Central Café Toronto’s (52 Bathurst St.) couch setup is a reasonable facsimile.

Sticking to your health goals just got easier thanks to Classic Juice Co. (287 Coxwell Ave.)

Crafted Coffee moved down the block and changed its name. Say hello to Pilot Coffee Roasters (117 Ossington Ave.)

Eat BKK in Leslieville (898 Queen St. E.) debuted last night. 

Good Hombres (374 Bathurst St.) opens today for lunch at 11:30am. On the menu: Masa (blue, yellow or white corn - $10/kg), Tortillas ($5/12pcs), and a variety of Tacos ($3.75 ea.). 

Green Earth Vegan Cuisine opened in their new space (804 Danforth Ave.) on Sunday.  

Etobicoke has an exciting new destination: Harry's Steak House (3277 Bloor St. W.) by the same team behind Barberians Steak House (7 Elm St.). Swoon.

Summer feels are officially extended with the arrival of La Diperie in the Beach (2196 Queen St. E.). Doors opened Saturday. 

Stop by cocktail and wine bar Melrose on Adelaide (270 Adelaide St. W., Unit 300) in the Entertainment District for charcuterie and oysters.

Nobs’ foodcart (505 University Ave.) near SickKids is serving up a different kind of street meat: 24hr. sous vide steak sandwiches and salads ($9.50-$11.50). Chicken ($7.50-$9.50) and pork ($9.50-$10.50) varieties are also available.

Mississauga’s Palma's Kitchen (3482 Semenyk Crt.) offers prepared foods as well as grocery items.

Hey North York, Sweet Jesus has landed at Yonge Sheppard Centre (4841 Yonge St.).

Queen and Broadview’s newest café Tertulia (711 Queen St. E.) serves coffee, tea, juice and pastries like most others, but guests here are encouraged to stay and converse.

CLOSED

Longtime fixture at Dundas and Bay, Alio Restaurant & Wine Bar (108 Dundas St. W.) is boarded up.

Home of Asian and Mexican cuisine, Chino Locos (368 Broadview Ave.) closed up shop, not long after A&W arrived across the street. The original location (4 Greenwood Ave.) remains open. 

Crafted Coffee left its original space (135 Ossington Ave.), and re-launched under a new name. 

Japanese spaghetti house Ken Oh (183 Dundas St. W.) claimed to be the first and only Nagoya Ankake Spaghetti restaurant outside of Japan. It closed one month shy of the two year mark. 

Zeytounda Mediterranean Cuisine (10 Dundas St. E., Unit 707) is making way for a few different concepts.

EVENTS

Early bird tickets are available until tomorrow for Eat to the Beat, so get your tickets now to one of the year’s best events. This year, KitchenAid will be generously donating $30 for every early bird ticket sold to supporting women affected by breast cancer. 

Take note: Not 9 to 5 presents Gospel Brunch happens Saturday at Thouroughbred Food + Drink (304 Richmond St. W.). Not 9 to 5 is Toronto’s first mental health initiative for the food and beverage industry.

Mount Pleasant Village Harvest Fair takes place Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Saturday’s Thistletown Chefs Harvest Garden Party includes an impressive lineup.

Pinkerton's Snack Bar (1026 Gerrard St. E.) and Poor Romeo Bar (1029 Gerrard St. E.) are bringing their food west side on Monday for East Meets West at Food & Liquor (1610 Queen St. W.). Tickets ($54.06) are going fast.  

NEWS 

Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at Scarborough’s Best Kabob and Karahi (232 Markham Rd.). Thankfully, there were no injuries.
