The Captain’s Boil 
230 Commerce Valley Dr. E.

The tenth location of the seafood boil-in-bag chain opens in Thornhill tomorrow.

Famous Last Words
392 Pacific Ave.

Opening tomorrow, FLW will be serving up cocktails with a literary twist – one named after a Neal Stephenson novel, another called "Hotel New Hampshire," etc.
 
Harry's Charbroil Dining Lounge  
160 Springhurst Ave.

Bar Raval’s Grant Van Gameren, Robin Goodfellow, Mykl Webster and Chef Nate Young (formerly Bar Isabel) have resurrected the long-standing diner.

Holts Cafe at Yorkdale 
3401 Dufferin St.

The newly renovated café features breakfast, lunch or dinner options, available to dine in while shopping or take to go.

Ji Restaurant
760 St. Clair Ave. W.

Brought to you by the owners of Pukka, this new spot serves Indian gastropub-style food in a casual atmosphere.

Montaditos
824 Dundas St. W.

Alex Ottens, owner of StudioBar, has opened a Spanish sandwich shop. Sandwiches are served on a 4” bun (similar to a mini baguette) and topped with items including cured Spanish meat and fish, as well as Spanish cheeses.

Montaditos is currently cash only.

Poop Café
706 Bloor St. W.

Toronto’s first "toilet themed dessert bar" opened near Christie. People lined up on Saturday, opening day, for the poo-shaped food.

PopStar Waffle Pizza 
2088 Lawrence Ave. E.

World’s collide in Scarborough! Warm, crispy, golden Belgium waffles are the base for this new twist on pizza.

Also on the menu: Not Routine Poutine and their "famous" wings.

Pretty Ugly
1237 Queen St. W.

Another spot by dream team Grant Van Gameren, Robin Goodfellow, Mike Webster softly opened this past weekend.

The new bar in Parkdale will be open only select days this week – Friday to Sunday.

Tacos del Carmen 
974 Danforth Ave.

In the mood for Mexican? Dig into tacos, burritos and sopes at this new spot near Jones. Prices range from $3.50-$10. Bonus: they carry Mexican Coca-Cola ($3.50).

Closed:

SIR Corp. announced today the pending closure of Far Niente , FOUR and Petit Four  at 187 Bay St. effective Saturday, October 15, 2016. SIR Corp. was "unable to negotiate a lease extension with the landlord."

Boxcar Social at Harbourfront  has launched dinner service.

Until Sunday, Calii Love is giving away free coffee from 7am onwards.

Country Style Hungarian in The Annex has reopened after lengthy renovations. In addition to the new look, they’ve added lunch size portions to the menu.

The fourth annual OktoberFEAST is a serious food fest, with all proceeds supporting Canadian Cancer Society’s ground-breaking research and support services.  It takes place tomorrow night.
