Feast On Spotlight: The Green Wood
Across Ontario alone, 130 restaurants, bars, caterers, breweries, butchers and shops have received official Certified Taste of Ontario Feast On designation.
These folks have not only pledged to buying food and beverages from Ontario - they have to prove it with receipts showing 25 per cent of total annual food and drink purchased within the province.
Now that’s a commitment.
To celebrate, Toronto Restaurants will be showcasing Feast On certified restaurants situated right here in the 6ix, once a month.

Think: regular, every day dishes, infused with a celebratory feel.
Take fries, for example. Here, Souk Fries ($11) exhibit a cool, casual Mediterranean feel with hand-cut taters topped with grilled eggplant, cucumber salad, crispy halloumi, creamy tahini and sunny side up egg. And lest you think sweet potatoes are merely a side, look to the Crispy Sweet Potato Sando ($15) for inspiration - boasting the root veg nestled in with avocado, alfalfa sprouts, crispy onions, greens and romesco, between slices of fresh housemade rye.
The fact that seasonal menus of rustic bowls, hearty sandwiches, chopped salads and brunch-ish fare are filled with fresh, sustainably-sourced ingredients from local purveyors (i.e. VG Meats, Fisher Folk, Hooked), and almost everything is made in-house – including breads, sauces, cured meats - makes it that much more enticing. And the interior is just as captivating: a bright white, light-filled space edged in greenery. With a spacious patio to boot. Click, click.
And did you know? Coming soon: an outpost at 461 King Street West, designed by I-V owner Emil Teleki, known for his unique modern and minimalist spaces (OVO Studio, Campari Office, SPIN Toronto).
The new full-service resto in the Fashion District will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails, as well as offer a variety of grab-and-go items. In keeping with the original location, expect an array of captivating gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, meat, egg, and dairy dishes, sharing plates and individual meal options.
