Soupalicious Scarborough 2019

One of the best winter warmups ever invented: a bowl of piping hot soup. And since temps continue to dip this month - ‘tis the season to be freezin'- a soup festival couldn’t arrive at a better time.

Soupalicious has long been a jam-packed, sold out event in Toronto. But as it’s held just once a year, it can feel like a long wait between bowls.

Did you know other cities across Canada have got in on the action? Bobcaygeon, Ottawa, and Utopia in Ontario, and Revelstoke in British Columbia, all host odes to this comfort food.

Thankfully, you don’t need to travel afar to enjoy hearty homemade soup. Scarborough has its very own edition, taking place this month – Sunday, March 24,

Soupalicious is a celebration of the harvest -  fresh local and seasonally grown produce made into delicious soups by local chefs, thanks to gardeners and farmers. This wonderful event is presented by the Plant • Grow • Share a Row program started by farmers that has grown to include multiple farmers, businesses and individuals in communities across the country who grow a row of plants and vegetables and dedicate the harvest to their local food bank and/or food agency for those in need.,

This fun, affordable community event is one the whole family can enjoy.

And to help keep the day waste-free, attendees are asked to bring their own spoons. As for the 4oz compostable cups and serviettes used on site, they’ll be sent to a nearby compost facility post-event.
