This week’s list of 14 arrivals is all over the place, which is actually a good thing. There’s a lot to choose from: coffee, cocktails, milk tea, Indian, Italian, Japanese, steak, vegan fare, pub food, artisan sandwiches...

The only problem: Where to start? 

Here’s the very latest:

OPEN

Coffee lovers, head to the Annex Hotel’s (296 Brunswick Ave.) new café kiosk, complete with take-out window.

Newly renovated The Big Carrot Organic Juice Bar (348 Danforth Ave.) has a new look and menu items. 

Did you know there are close to 20 locations of Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar and Grill? Mississauga’s Creekside is the latest (1492 Dundas St. E.).

In addition to coffee and tea, Clove Apple Café (1405 Queen St. W) carries single origin, Fair-Trade, socially responsible, locally roasted beans, and baked goods including croissant sandos and Oreo-topped muffins.

Pape and Danforth’s Everest (642 Danforth Ave.) specializes in hand-crafted artisan sandwiches, baked goods, coffee and juice.

Family-friendly pizza and pasta chain Goodfellas newest outpost lands in Mississauga (50 Burnamthorpe Rd. W.). Grand opening celebrations take place Wednesday. 

Indian healthy food chain Good Karma (687 Queen St. E.) brings antibiotic-free chicken, grass-fed goat, and vegan smoothies to Queen and Broadview.

Gyubee Japanese Grill is known for its grill-your-own fare. Scarborough folks, it’s your turn at the stove (3720 Midland Ave., Unit 109).

Elevated cocktails are the name of the game at Mother Cocktail Bar (874 Queen St. W.). Grand opening is tonight.

Doors opened Tuesday for The Nomad Steakhouse (453 Eglinton Ave. W.) up at Avenue Road. The fine dining restaurant - open for lunch and dinner - offers steaks ($34-$130) cooked over charcoal. Other selections include: fish and seafood ($28-$55), pasta ($18-$25), and dishes from Transylvania [Hungarian Goulash ($15) and Cabbage Rolls ($18)].

Port Credit’s NourishMoi Power Foods (229 Lakeshore Rd. E.) made its debut yesterday. The vegan, mostly gluten-free eatery promises healthy fare without refined sugars.

Doors open Saturday at noon for Palgong Tea (15 Mill St.) in the Distillery District. The first 500 customers get a free original Milk Tea, with a buy one, get one free special on all week. Watch this space. Another location is launching soon…

The beloved home of Penrose Fish & Chips (600 Mt Pleasant Rd.) sat empty for years, but has recently been transformed into Shibui Japanese Eatery, currently in soft opening, evenings only.

“Classic cocktails, classic beats and classic ambiance,” are Parkdale’s new speakeasy has arrived, featuring The Standard (1316 Queen St. W.) launches today.

Doors open Tuesday for Stelvio’s new venue (791 Dundas St. W.). Expect a bigger, brighter space and new look.

CLOSED

2 Bros. Cuisine (1549 Bayview Ave.) is the latest closure on long-struggling Bayview. 

Birch Bistro (623 Mount Pleasant Rd.) held onto the corner spot for two years before closing.

Four-and-a-half months after launching, Pho Pas Social Bistro (480 Parliament Ave.) has shuttered. 

CHANGE

Psst. Kibo Secret Garden (1415 Bloor St. W.) is now operating as just a regular Kibo Sushi now.

EVENTS

Tomorrow night, ten businesses will host a participating brewery for Beach Village Moonlight Madness, including local brews from Beaches, Blood Brothers, Catapult, Common Good, Danforth, Halo, Henderson, Lost Craft, Radical Road, and Woodhouse. Other festivities will take place in the area at select shops and restaurants.

Carassauga Festival starts tomorrow and goes all weekend long.

Food Truck’N Friday monthly series launches tomorrow at Mississauga Celebration Square.

Fast in the 6 returns to Nathan Phillips Square tomorrow night.

Head to Donna’s for a fab Quebec Seafood Extravaganza on Sunday. [UPDATE: May 23, 6:08PM - Donna’s has just canceled this event.]

This Sunday, Kung Fu Dawg’s is popping up at Ronnie’s Local in Kensington.

The annual Gluten Free Garage takes over Artscape Wychwood Barns on Sunday.
