2024 MICHELIN GUIDE TORONTO & REGION | Hotels & Keys
🕘 4 min read
Today the Michelin Guide revealed the first Michelin Keys for Canada. What are they, you ask? The restaurant compendium defines them as: “Like the Michelin Stars for restaurants, the Michelin Keys are our most outstanding hotels,” with three distinctions - One, Two, and Three Keys.
Every hotel is reviewed and rated across five categories:
1. Architecture and interior design
2. Quality and consistency of service
3. Overall personality and character
4. Value for the price
5. Significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.
The guide currently includes over 5,000 hotels across the globe. This year the Guide doled out 2 Three Keys, 8 Two Keys, and 23 One Keys in the country. Note: The city did not secure any top tier Three-Keys, however nabbed two Two Keys and five One Keys, outlined below.
TR Trivia: While the ‘key’ concept may be a new addition, it’s a little known fact that Michelin gave out accolades to 20 Toronto hotels in 2022. This year however, only seven made the cut.
p.s. The Michelin awards are Wednesday night. Stay tuned.
