Following the arrival of the inaugural Toronto Michelin Guide last year, contenders for the 2023 roster have been hotly debated by industry and restaurant-goers alike.

Earlier today, the fine dining compendium announced 12 additions to this year’s lineup, 49 days ahead of the official announcement in September. According to the news release, this is “to help food lovers enjoy new discoveries before the full selection is revealed.” Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, adds, “By revealing some of the new additions made by our inspectors throughout the year, we enhance our digital tools to further strengthen the ties that bind us to food lovers. We hope that these regular revelations and updates to the selection throughout the year will provide opportunities to highlight the profession and invite everyone to discover and support the restaurants around them.”

The new selections span from scratch made diner fare to Toronto’s first kappo-style restaurant launched less than eight months ago.
