OPEN
All Is Well (456 Ossington Ave.), the latest coffee shop to drop at this particular addy at College and Ossington (details below), comes complete with pastries, potato chips, and of course coffee galore.
Grand opening for Croquembouche Patisserie (1494 Danforth Ave.) takes place tomorrow. What to expect? In addition to fresh pastries, discover an assortment of bread, salads, soups and sandwiches. TR Trivia: The new bakery near Coxwell moved into what was once a foam store.
Crust’N Crave Pizza in Etobicoke (5555 Eglinton Ave. E., Unit E109) is “elevating your pizza experience, one slice at a time.” Despite the name, there’s more to the lineup than just ‘za: Discover halal wings, wraps, burgers, poutine, pasta and more.
Don’t feel like cooking? In a rush? Dongrami at Gerrard and Bay (700 Bay St., Unit 17) has got you covered with takeaway gimbap.
Happy Burger #3 touches down east side at the corner of Queen and Broadview (689 Queen St. E.) with signature smash burgers, hot dogs, waffle fries, and shakes. TR Pro Tip: Save room for dessert. (Hint: Rhymes with Hannah Gooding.)
Albanian-Canadian couple Xhesika and Brian’s Mik Cafe in Etobicoke (577 Burnhamthorpe Rd.) debuts Monday at 11am with free coffee, giveaways and live music. Did you know? ‘Mik’ is friend in Albanian.
The extensive menu at Scarborough’s new Mr. Biryani (2598 Birchmount Rd.) features authentic Indian dishes alongside fusion fare.
ISO fine dining in Vaughan? Sam's Ristorante (200 Marycroft Ave.) is the latest luxe Italian eatery to sweep into Woodbridge.
Another dining destination on Geary? Ooh, you need in on this: I was first to let you in on Sana’s approach back in March. The serious self care amenities at 211 Geary Ave. - saunas, cold plunge, steam room, lounge - are boosted by a restaurant and bar for post-sesh food and drinks. Note: Access is available exclusively for guests.
Solaris Coffee softly opens tomorrow at 7am at Queen near University (2A St. Patrick St.). Bonus: All drinks are 25 per cent off.
Today marks the soft opening of TIS Two Cities in Etobicoke (122 Marine Parade Dr.). On the menu: Delicacies from Chongqing, China.
From burgers to brekkie. What was forever home to The Works Craft Burgers & Beer in Bloor West Village has made way for another chain, this time B.C.’s Yolks (2245 Bloor St. W.) with an array of eggs, pancakes, and savoury dishes. Grand opening festivities are today. Bonus: The first 15 customers receive a grab bag, with free beignets happening all weekend.
The third 18feet Espresso Bar & The Cheong lands north of Davisville (1967 Yonge. St.) with coffee, matcha, croffle sandos, bagels and other good stuff. Psst. Watch this space. Another is already in the works…
CLOSED
Carnival (369 Keele St.) arrived at the corner of Keele and Dundas around this time last year. At the time of opening, the contemporary Indian restaurant and cocktail bar in the Junction declared it “combines fine dining with fun.”
Devi Ristorante’s 3,000 sq. ft. space in Woodbridge (200 Marycroft Ave.) is newly crafted, however already home to a new occupant. For who’s moved in, see openings above.
Mayday Burger (66 Dundas St. E.) was doing smash burgers and shakes at Yonge and Dundas before Shake Shack showed up. Both MB and its sweet counterpart, Pass the Syrup, are permanently closing on Tuesday. TR Trivia: They’re located steps from The Imperial Pub scheduled to close for good Saturday.
Walker’s Coffee House (456 Ossington Ave.) was the latest cafe to set up shop at this addy. See: Maderas, Hula Girl Espresso Boutique.
